Bill Williams’s Awesome Oscillator Technical Indicator (AO)

Section titled “Bill Williams’s Awesome Oscillator Technical Indicator (AO)”

The Awesome Oscillator (AO) is a technical indicator created by Bill Williams. It consists of a 34-period simple moving average subtracted from a 5-period simple moving average. The indicator is plotted through the midpoints of the bars and helps to determine the market driving force.

The saucer signal is a signal to buy when the bar chart is higher than the zero line. However, it is important to note that all Awesome Oscillator columns should be over the zero line for this signal to be valid.

The zero line crossing signal is a signal to buy generated when the bar chart passes from negative values to positive values by crossing the zero line.

The twin peaks signal is a signal to buy that can be generated when the bar chart values are below the zero line. However, it is important to consider that this signal is reversed and higher than the zero line.

The sell signals for the Awesome Oscillator are similar to the buy signals. The saucer signal is reversed and below zero. The zero line crossing signal is on the decrease, with the first column above zero and the second column below it. The twin peaks signal is also reversed and higher than the zero line.
